Here at Manchester Young Professionals, as you probably already know, one of our main objectives is to support and develop our community, whether through Health & Well-being events, Mentoring schemes or Educational initiatives, all with the aim to help individuals further their professional and personal development and growth their skill set.
Over recent years the Educational aspect of MYP has grown significantly, evolving from annual events to quarterly, launching our own Mentoring scheme (which is now into its third intake) all the while working with a number of fantastic partners in this space. The one constant throughout this has been Alliance Manchester Business School and we’re very proud to be continuing our relationship in 2022.
For many years we have had the privilege of offering the MYP community a £23,000 scholarship on AMBS’s MBA programme, with Ben Ogden the latest individual from MYP to take advantage of this opportunity having started his MBA in May of this year.
In this article, we want to highlight a fantastic, brand new opportunity for the MYP community to take advantage of a scholarship for AMBS’s Financial Management course.
What is AMBS’s Financial Management MSc?
Are you looking to build more financial management knowledge in your current role or move into the financial sector from a different industry? This course might be right up your street!
Whatever function you work in, skills and knowledge in areas such as corporate finance, financial markets and financial accounting are highly likely to build your credibility and ability to see the big picture for your organisation. Learning these new skills might even give you the advantage over others when moving for that new role and equally, for those starting out in business, getting to grips with accounting and financial terms could help propel your business forward.
So what is the Financial Management course exactly? The MSc in Financial Management will equip you with the financial acumen you need to succeed and solve business challenges in any sector. It is designed for professionals based anywhere in the world who:
- Have no finance experience and seek a career change into the financial services sector
- Need to build more substantial skills and knowledge in finance to further your career (in any sector)
- Are looking to build on existing finance experience to progress your career in financial services (or a related industry)
The course will introduce you to sophisticated finance tools and techniques and give you an understanding of financial markets and institutions within a global context. Topics range from analysing a company’s financial strategy to applying a full range of financial techniques to real-life business situations.
How is the course structured?
The Masters degree in Financial Management is delivered through a part-time blended learning format. The majority of the teaching is online, so you can study flexibly at a pace that suits your own requirements and lifestyle. You will also get the opportunity to learn and share experiences with classmates from across the globe at face-to-face workshops.
The course is part time and depending on your circumstances will take 2-5 years, with an expected weekly time commitment of 15 hours.
The tuition fee for the 2022 intake, which starts in September, is £20,000 payable in four instalments before the start of each semester.
MYP Scholarship
After the success of our MBA scholarship, we’re very excited to be able to offer the MYP community a 40% scholarship for the Masters degree in Financial Management. - You are welcome to use diagrams, photographs for illustration
- AMBS will evaluate the presentation based on the content (showing how you meet the scholarship criteria), not on technical expertise.
