Back in January, we spoke about building small, sustainable wellbeing habits. The new year naturally brings motivation, fresh energy and a desire to reset. But now, a few months in, this is your gentle reminder to check in.
Are those habits still part of your routine? If the answer is yes, that’s something to be proud of. If not, that’s completely normal too.
As work picks up pace, calendars fill and social plans return, it’s easy for wellbeing to slip down the priority list. But the reality is, your career, your goals and your success all rely on one key thing… you.
Spring has sprung in Manchester and it’s reminding us that taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury, it’s the foundation!
The importance of checking in
Wellbeing isn’t about being perfect every day. It’s about awareness.
Checking in with yourself allows you to pause and ask how you’re feeling and see if you’ve been making time to prioritise yourself. Sometimes, it’s not about adding more into your routine, but returning to the basics.
The small things still matter:
- Getting outside for some fresh air
- Moving your body, even if it’s just a walk (Manchester looks beautiful this time of year!)
- Logging off on time
- Saying no when you need to
- Making time to properly switch off
These habits might seem simple, but they are powerful. Over time, they help reduce stress, improve clarity and create a sense of balance that carries into every area of your life.
Because success doesn’t come from burnout. It comes from sustainability.

Careers are important, but so are you
In a fast-paced, ambitious city like Manchester, it’s easy to feel like you always need to be ‘on’. Pushing harder, doing more, keeping up. But balance is where real progress happens.
When you feel good, you perform better. When your energy is high, your focus improves. When your mind is clear, your decisions are stronger. Looking after yourself isn’t separate from your career, it enhances it. So rather than seeing wellbeing as something extra, think of it as part of your overall success strategy.
We were recently reminded of this at our International Women’s Day event, where Marketing and Brand Consultant Kate Brown spoke about protecting your wellbeing in a busy professional world. She shared the importance of setting non-negotiables, like taking a proper lunch break to reset and recharge, even on the busiest days.
These small but consistent actions play a big role in maintaining balance. As Kate put it, “we thrive in collective environments”. A reminder that you don’t have to do it all alone.

A new season, a new energy
Spring has officially arrived, and Manchester is starting to show it! The city feels different. Lighter evenings, glimpses of sunshine, beautiful sunsets, trees beginning to bloom and colour returning to the streets. After months of grey skies, there’s a noticeable shift in energy, and it naturally lifts your mood.
There’s something about this time of year that brings a sense of renewal.
Spring is often associated with:
- New beginnings
- Fresh perspective
- Increased motivation
- More time outdoors
- A natural boost in mood and energy
It’s a reminder that change doesn’t have to be dramatic. It can be gradual, gentle and positive. This season can be a reset for you too.
Whether that’s reintroducing small habits, trying something new or simply slowing down and enjoying the present moment, there’s a lot to look forward to.

Community, connection & feeling good
One of the most powerful ways to support your wellbeing is through connection.
We recently brought the MYP community together at One Port Street for a morning Pilates event focused on movement, mindset and starting the day right. It was a great reminder of how good it feels to move your body, meet new people and take time for yourself before the working day begins.
And this is just the start.
With the brighter months ahead, there will be more opportunities to get involved, from wellbeing-focused events to social meet-ups and community sessions. Our sister community, Manchester Run Club, will also continue to bring people together through movement, fresh air and shared goals. Come and join our Spring series starting in April! Keep an eye out on socials for the date announcements over the coming weeks.
These moments aren’t just about fitness or networking, they’re about creating space to feel good, reset and connect with others who are on a similar journey.

Good things are coming
Spring is a season of possibility. Longer days, warmer evenings, more time outside and more opportunities to connect. It’s a chance to look ahead with optimism and remind yourself that you don’t have to have everything figured out.
Focus on what feels good.
Focus on what supports you.
Focus on what brings balance.
And most importantly, don’t forget to check in with yourself along the way. Because while your career matters, your wellbeing matters just as much.

A final reminder
You don’t need a full reset and you don’t need to start over. You just need to come back to the small things that make you feel like you. And there’s a lot to look forward to!
