Sam McGowan:
Sam grew up training and competing as a high-level gymnast, competing in every sport she could. When that came to an end, she admits she lost her confidence and sense of self-worth. Her physical and mental health wasn’t great, she didn’t feel herself anymore but also couldn’t think of anything worse than going to the gym.
She didn’t compete in sports to be fit or healthy, she did it because she enjoyed it, so lifting weights just seemed boring and vein.
It wasn’t until she found herself in a marketing job for one of the world’s leading personal training brands that she could truly understand why people even went to the gym or lifted weights.
So she began her own lifting journey; learning what to do in the gym, how to move safely and the true empowerment that came from lifting heavy.
She been a personal trainer now for nearly 4 years and worked with hundreds of clients at some of the best facilities, alongside some of the best coaches; transforming their lives with strength training and healthy habits.
Ben Parker:
Ben has spent 5+ years as a professional running coach, helping everyone from beginner runners to elite athletes. Ben is a qualified Personal Trainer, IRONMAN Coach, England Athletics Coach and Pilates Instructor. After growing a personal coaching business Ben partnered with friend and tech expert to explore automating the Running coaching journey. Together they founded Runna, the global coaching service helping over 10 000 runners with customers in over 166 countries!
In his spare time, Ben is a keen athlete himself, ranking top-5 in his age group for IRONMAN in the UK, and coming top-20 in the 2020 virtual London Marathon with a time of 2:34. Ben also recently qualified for the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
David Seed:
David’s journey is a fascinating and inspiring one that has led him to where he is today. From the beginning of his life, he faced a major challenge with a deformed caved-in chest that required major surgery to correct. Despite this obstacle, David went on to work as a successful fashion model for ten years, working with top brands like Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, and GQ, as well as walking the catwalk for some of the biggest labels in the world.
Throughout his career, David always felt a sense of purpose in helping people, which led him to start a blog and Instagram account showcasing ways to dress well for less, from supermarket “dad’s clothes” fashion to eBay finds. But despite his success in the fashion industry, David’s greatest triumph came when he overcame a chronic phobia of ice that had plagued him since childhood. This phobia had once crippled his life, but with determination and hard work, he was able to conquer it and start a free cold water meet-up community, and now runs weekly breathwork and lake/ice bath sessions at The Farm Club.
David’s passion for helping people and fashion led him to found In.Flux, a clothing company that makes waterproof coats for everyday city wear and water activities.
His mission is simple: to encourage people around the world to step into their power and be the best version of themselves. Through In.Flux and his work with The Farm Club, David aims to help people feel great, expand their potential, and unlock ‘the power of flow state’.
Ed Madeley:
Ed started treating patients with sports massage therapy, working at elite level football and rugby clubs and players. This proved to be enjoyable, but Ed wanted to expand his horizons into clinical practice, so went to University to study sports rehabilitation and injury prevention, and then Osteopathy in Kent.
Due to his previous experience, Ed noticed he saw patterns early on in his training which helped him identify musculoskeletal and postural deficiencies in patients. This tied in with developed interpersonal skills and a fantastic bedside manner makes Ed a reliable and trustworthy practitioner. This is reflected in reviews on social media by patients past and present.
