Get To Know: Myerson

At Manchester Young Professionals, we love shining a spotlight on the businesses helping shape Greater Manchester’s thriving professional community. This time, we caught up with the team at Myerson to learn more about the people behind the firm, what makes their culture stand out and why they’re proud to call Greater Manchester home.

We spoke with Jordanna Reynolds, People Director at Myerson, about growth, culture and what it really means to be an employee-owned business.

Who are Myerson?

Founded in 1982, Myerson was built with a clear mission: to deliver city-quality legal advice in a more approachable and personable way.

Fast forward to today and the firm has grown into one of the North West’s leading independent law firms, with more than 165 employees and over 25 partners based in Altrincham. While Myerson now supports businesses and individuals across the UK and internationally, the team remains proudly rooted in Greater Manchester.

What does Myerson do?

As a full-service law firm, Myerson supports both businesses and individuals across a wide range of legal specialisms.

From helping businesses grow and navigate commercial challenges to supporting people through major life moments such as buying property, planning for the future or resolving disputes, the firm prides itself on offering expert support under one roof.

Jordanna explains:

“One of the things that makes Myerson unique is the breadth of expertise we offer under one roof. Whether someone is growing a business, buying a property, planning for the future, resolving a dispute or navigating a personal challenge, we have specialist teams who can support them.

We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our clients and becoming trusted advisers through every stage of life and business.”

What makes Myerson stand out?

While Myerson is consistently recognised as a Top Tier law firm by The Legal 500, Jordanna says it’s the culture that really sets the business apart.

In September 2024, Myerson became the first 100% employee-owned law firm in Manchester — a move designed to protect the culture they’ve built and create long-term shared success for the team.

“At Myerson, people genuinely are at the heart of everything we do,” says Jordanna.

“Becoming employee-owned was a really important milestone for us because it reflects the culture we have built over many years, one where everyone has a voice and where success is shared.

We want people to feel empowered to develop fulfilling careers here, contribute ideas and feel part of something bigger.”

That people-first approach has also led to industry recognition. Alongside being recognised as a Top Tier law firm by The Legal 500, Myerson has picked up a number of awards celebrating both workplace culture and business success.

Recent achievements include:

  • Highly Commended for Company Culture and Law Firm of the Year (Medium) at the Clio Modern Law Awards 2026
  • Transition of the Year at the UK Employee Ownership Awards 2025
  • Best Workplace – Law Firm at the Conveyancing Awards 2026
  • Best Workplace Wellbeing Award at the Private Client Modern Law Awards 2025
  • Team of the Year (Cheshire) at the 2025 North West Rainmaker Awards

Jordanna adds:

“We are incredibly proud of the recognition we have received, particularly the awards focused on culture and wellbeing, because they reflect the experience of our people and the environment we are creating together.”

Proudly based in Altrincham

Myerson is headquartered in Altrincham, one of Greater Manchester’s fastest-growing business hubs.

“We now have over 165 employees and 25+ Partners based here in vibrant Altrincham, where we are well known as ‘the building with the Manchester Bee’,” says Jordanna.

The office itself has been designed to feel collaborative, welcoming and modern — something Jordanna says reflects the wider culture of the business.

“The moment clients, contacts or candidates walk in, they discover exceptionally talented people with a genuine passion for making a difference.

Many of our lawyers have worked for large national and international firms but have chosen to ‘live local, work local’, combining city-level expertise with a strong sense of community.”

How does Myerson fit into Manchester’s business community?

For the team at Myerson, being part of Manchester’s professional network is about far more than business development.

“Manchester has an incredibly collaborative and ambitious professional community, and we are proud to be part of it,” Jordanna explains.

“Being based here gives us access to a fantastic network of professionals, businesses and organisations, including partnerships with groups such as Manchester Young Professionals, which are invaluable for connecting people and supporting career growth.”

Community plays a big role across the firm too, with employees regularly supporting charitable initiatives, fundraising events and local causes across Greater Manchester.

“For us, being part of Manchester’s business community is about building lasting relationships, supporting others and contributing positively to the region we are proud to call home,” Jordanna says.

Is Myerson hiring?

As the business continues to grow organically, Myerson regularly recruits across both legal teams and business support functions, including marketing, HR, finance, operations and business development.

But according to Jordanna, joining Myerson is about much more than simply finding a job.

“We are passionate about helping people build long-term careers. Whether someone joins us at the beginning of their journey or later in their career, we focus heavily on training, development and progression opportunities.

We also recognise the importance of flexibility, wellbeing and creating an environment where people feel supported both professionally and personally.

Being employee-owned means our people share in our success, which creates a real sense of collective purpose. Alongside that, we have a strong social culture, wellbeing initiatives and plenty of opportunities to get involved across the wider firm community.”

If you’re looking for a workplace where culture matters, development is encouraged and people genuinely enjoy what they do, Myerson could be one to watch.
