Christmas Festivities

This year in Manchester – Santa is coming to town as Christmas is officially back on! We expect the festive events to be more exciting than ever before. Spirits will be high, mulled wine will flow and a large amount of pigs-in-blankets will be consumed. Here is what the people of Manchester and tourists have to look forward to this December:

12 Nov-22 Dec: Christmas Markets at Manchester City Centre. Manchester boasts the biggest and best Christmas market in the country and is the place to be during the festive season. The city centre is scattered with delicious food stalls, hot chocolate stations, art and craft stores and clothing shops. The sights, sounds and smells of the markets are unbeatable, creating an atmosphere that radiates happiness and joy.

22 November: Christmas Lights Switch On at Manchester Cathedral. This event has 1000s of locals flocking to the Cathedral in a bid to witness the famous switch-on of Christmas lights. Historically, reputable individuals have been known to get involved with this annual event. Due to the circumstances, this event may be structured slightly differently. However, this occurrence will undoubtedly be captivating – symbolising the start of Christmas.
